The LME sponsored the 2008 Copper and Non-ferrous Metal Market conference in Milan in May. Simone Carminati, LME training manager presented a paper on LME non-ferrous metal contracts and price risk management.
Other topics included: Companies and hedging strategies, causes of price volatility, role of clearing houses, role of LME brokers, long term structured products vs vanilla instruments, dynamics and future tendencies in the copper market, the evolution of the Italian and EU non-ferrous metal market, development of the uses of aluminium, the evolution of the Lead market, and many others.
