| The new European Chemicals regulation (REACH) was adopted in December 2006 and comes into effect from 1 June 2007.
There have been a number changes to the REACH policy since the initial proposal was made in October 2003. The legislation includes a requirement for any importer of metal to be registered for the particular commodity that they wish to import. Any organisation which believes it may be affected is advised to consult the legislation at the links provided below.
