Access to the market is via LMEselect or through the LME’s 24hr telephone market. LMEselect is the official Exchange-operated electronic trading platform. LME member firms are connected to the LMEselect system which allows accredited traders to execute trades electronically.

LMEselect offers traders a wide range of options for setting and tailoring screens to individual preferences.
Functional
The basic screens required for trading are supported by a number of supplementary screens giving in-depth analysis of the market and executed trades.
LMEselect allows trading on LMEminis plus all other LME contracts; futures, options, traded average price options (TAPOs) and carries. It also allows for straight-through processing whereby LMEselect trades are automatically sent to the matching and clearing systems operated by LCH.Clearnet.
LMEselect operates between 01:00 and 19:00 hours London time.
Order routing
The LME FIX gateway allows LME members to connect clients directly to the LMEselect trading system via third party applications, developed by Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) that have passed LME conformance tests.
