LME Corporate Structure

In 2000 The London Metal Exchange Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of a new company - LME Holdings Limited.  The former members of The London Metal Exchange Limited retained their membership of the Exchange and were offered shareholdings in LME Holdings Limited on a scaled basis according to the type of member.

The London Metal Exchange Limited has up to 13 directors - comprising up to two invited directors with substantial experience of the metals industry and trade, up to three independent directors and up to six shareholder representative directors of LME Holdings Limited, who are elected from the membership, a trade director and the LME's CEO. The LME Holdings Limited board is drawn up in a similar fashion.

LME Committees

LME Committees are an integral and unique part of the way the LME operates. Each is a sub-committee of the board. They contribute to the good governance of the exchange, the orderly operation of the market and a close understanding its participants’ needs. 

LME Rules and Regulations

The LME Rulebook is now available to members via an online service. Hard copies can also be purchased through the LME Online Store.;If you are a member of the LME, please contact info@lme.com to access your login details.
